Survival in the industrial wasteland of the various moons requires more than just a quick sprint to the ship with a heavy engine in hand. Knowledge of the biological and mechanical horrors inhabiting these facilities is the most valuable asset any employee can possess. The Company demands quotas, but those quotas cannot be met if the workforce is consistently decimated by entities they do not understand.

The Fundamental Rules of Engagement
Before analyzing specific threats, it is necessary to internalize the two primary sensors most entities use: sound and sight. Some monsters are entirely blind and rely on your microphone input or footsteps, while others function on line-of-sight mechanics. Managing your noise level and knowing when to break eye contact—or maintain it—determines the outcome of almost every interior mission.
Interior Facility Entities: The Dark Corridors
The interior of the facilities is a maze where movement is often restricted, making encounters with entities much more personal and dangerous.
Bracken (The Flower Man)
The Bracken is perhaps the most psychological threat within the facility. It is a stealth hunter that stalks players from the shadows. It does not charge immediately; instead, it waits for a moment of distraction to snap a player's neck and drag the body away.
Survival Strategy: Avoid staring. If you spot a Bracken, a quick glance is enough to make it retreat temporarily. Staring for more than a couple of seconds will trigger its aggression. It is a game of "peek-a-boo" where you must acknowledge its presence without challenging it. Always check your six, especially when working in dead ends.
Coil-Head
Resembling a mannequin with a head on a spring, the Coil-head is a relentless pursuer that can only move when it is not being watched. Its movement speed is incredibly high, often closing the distance in the blink of an eye.
Survival Strategy: Maintain constant eye contact. When an encounter occurs, one team member must act as the lookouts while the others retreat. If you are solo, you must walk backward toward the exit, keeping the entity in your sights at all times. Using doors to break its pathing is effective, but remember that it will be right behind that door the moment it closes.
Jester
The Jester is a terminal threat. It begins as a passive jack-in-the-box on legs, following players without attacking. However, once it begins winding its crank, the countdown to a total party wipe begins.
Survival Strategy: Immediate evacuation. When the Jester starts its music, you have approximately 30 to 40 seconds before it enters its final phase. In the final phase, it becomes an unkillable, high-speed hunter that knows the location of every player in the facility. There is no counter-play other than leaving the building and waiting for it to reset.
Nutcracker
The Nutcracker patrols hallways with a double-barrel shotgun. It is unique because it transitions between a "patrol" state and a "scanning" state where it reveals a hidden eye.
Survival Strategy: Stay still during the scan. The Nutcracker’s vision is movement-based when its eye is out. If you are caught in its sights while moving, it will fire. It is possible to kill the Nutcracker with approximately five shovel hits, but this is high-risk. The reward for doing so is the shotgun, which provides a massive tactical advantage for the remainder of the run.
Thumper (Halfdere)
This shark-headed, two-legged creature is a fast, aggressive predator. It is deaf but has excellent vision. Once it spots a player, it will charge in a straight line with increasing speed.
Survival Strategy: Utilize corners and elevation. Thumpers have poor turn rates. Jumping onto railings or pipes can often take you out of their reach. If forced into a fight, a shovel can kill it in about four hits, but timing the hits between its lunges is critical.
Bunker Spider
Spiders are territorial. They lay webs that slow down players and alert the spider to their location. Unlike the Bracken, they are not subtle; they will guard their nest aggressively.
Survival Strategy: Use a shovel to clear webs before entering a room. If a spider begins a chase, walking backward while hitting it with a shovel is a viable tactic. They are relatively slow, and like Thumpers, they struggle to reach players on elevated railings.
Hygrodere (The Slime)
A slow-moving mass of sentient sludge. It is lethal to the touch but lacks any ranged or high-speed attacks.
Survival Strategy: Simply jump over it or walk around it. The Hygrodere is more of an environmental hazard than an active hunter. However, in narrow corridors, it can block your only exit, forcing you to find an alternative route or use a boombox to lure it away.
Snare Flea
These insectoids hang from the ceiling, waiting for an employee to walk underneath. They will drop, wrap around the player's head, and begin suffocating them while obscuring their vision.
Survival Strategy: Always scan the ceiling of new rooms. If caught, a teammate can hit the flea off with a shovel. If you are alone, your only hope is to reach an exit; exiting the facility will force the flea to detach.
Hoarding Bug
Small, chattering insects that collect scrap. They are generally neutral unless you steal their hoard or stand too close to their nest.
Survival Strategy: Respect their space. If you need a piece of scrap they have claimed, be prepared for a fight. They are weak and die in 2-3 shovel hits. Alternatively, you can sometimes "trade" by dropping a low-value item to make them drop a high-value one.
Masked (Mimics)
These are the remains of former employees possessed by cursed masks. They look like players but exhibit erratic movements and attempt to grab and convert other players.
Survival Strategy: Communication is key. If a "teammate" isn't responding or is moving strangely, keep your distance. They can be killed with shovels, but they have high health and a lethal grab attack. Never put on a Comedy or Tragedy mask for more than a second unless you are prepared for the consequences.
Outdoor Entities: The Surface Hazards
The trek between the ship and the facility entrance becomes increasingly dangerous as the day progresses, especially after 5 PM or during Eclipsed weather.
Eyeless Dog
These large, bioluminescent predators are completely blind but have extremely sensitive hearing. They roam the facility exterior in packs.
Survival Strategy: Silence is mandatory. Crouch-walk to reduce footstep noise and ensure your microphone is quiet. If a dog is near the ship, use the loud horn (if purchased) to lure it to the front while you slip in through the back. Do not use walkie-talkies near them.
Forest Keeper (Giants)
Massive, bipedal entities that rely on sight. They move surprisingly fast and will eat any player they catch, resulting in an instant death with no chance of body recovery.
Survival Strategy: Break line of sight. Use trees, hills, and the ship's structure to stay out of their vision. If spotted, a stun grenade can provide a few seconds of escape time. Once they are locked onto you, reaching the ship or the facility door is the only way to survive.
Earth Leviathan
A massive subterranean worm that attacks from below. You will hear a deep rumbling and see dirt particles rising before it lunges.
Survival Strategy: Drop your heavy gear and sprint. The moment you hear the roar or see the ground shake, turn 180 degrees and run. The Leviathan anticipates your forward momentum, so a sudden change in direction is often the only way to avoid being swallowed whole.
Old Bird
Found primarily on higher-difficulty moons like Artifice or Ember, these are ancient war machines that activate as the day ends. They utilize long-range missiles and flamethrowers.
Survival Strategy: Stay behind heavy cover. The Old Bird is highly aggressive toward everything, including other monsters. Sometimes, leading a Forest Keeper into an Old Bird's path can solve two problems at once. Their missiles have an area-of-effect, so don't huddle too close to teammates.
Baboon Hawk
Winged primates that are scavengers. They are generally timid when solo but become extremely aggressive in groups.
Survival Strategy: Intimidation. If a lone Baboon Hawk approaches, staring it down and making noise can sometimes keep it at bay. However, if they outnumber your group, they will attack. Do not leave scrap unattended outside, as they will steal it.
Specialized Entity Management
Managing Lethal Company monsters isn't just about evasion; it's about using the right tools for the job.
- The Shovel/Stop Sign: Essential for dealing with Thumpers, Spiders, and Snare Fleas. At least one person in the crew should always be armed.
- The Zap Gun: A powerful support tool. It can stun almost any killable entity, including the Nutcracker and Eyeless Dog, allowing a second player to safely dispatch the threat with a shovel.
- Stun Grenades: Excellent for emergencies, particularly against Forest Keepers or when a Bracken is cornered.
- The Radar Map: The player staying behind on the ship is the team's most important eyes. They can see red dots (monsters) on the map and warn the ground team before an encounter happens. They can also trigger flashbangs on certain moons or use the teleporter to save a player from a certain death (like a Giant's grasp).
The Philosophy of the "Good Employee"
In Lethal Company, a successful run often depends on knowing when to fight and when to flee. Not every monster needs to be killed; in fact, attempting to clear a facility often results in wasted time and unnecessary risk. The objective is scrap collection. If a Jester is winding up or a Ghost Girl is breathing down your neck, the most professional decision you can make is to leave the facility immediately, consolidate what you have, and live to work another day.
