Marvel Rivals Patch Notes: Season 7 Mid-Season Balance and White Fox Tuning
The Chronoventure continues to evolve as Season 7 matures. Following the massive integration of White Fox into the Strategist roster, the competitive landscape has seen significant shifts. This mid-season update focuses on stabilizing the power ceiling of high-mobility Duelists and refining the sustainability of the Vanguard class. The adjustments detailed below aim to provide a more balanced experience across all skill tiers, specifically addressing the dominance of certain "Team-Up" synergies that have overshadowed solo performance metrics.
White Fox: Post-Launch Refinement
White Fox has quickly become a staple in high-rank play due to her unique ability to manipulate enemy positioning while providing consistent utility. However, data indicates her survivability was slightly overtuned, allowing her to escape focused dives with too much ease.
- Base Health: Reduced from 250 to 225.
- Kumiho Dash: Increased cooldown from 8s to 10s. The invulnerability window at the start of the dash has been reduced by 0.05 seconds to allow for more precise counter-play by tracking Duelists.
- Spiritual Resonance: The energy regeneration rate for nearby allies has been normalized. It now provides a flat 5% boost instead of scaling based on the number of active debuffs on the enemy.
Developer Note: White Fox was intended to be a high-skill, high-reward Strategist. These changes ensure that her positioning must be more deliberate, rewarding players who master her kit while punishing those who overextend without team support.
Vanguard Balance Changes
The Vanguard role currently faces a divide between "Dive" tanks and "Anchor" tanks. This patch aims to bring more parity to the role, ensuring that slower-moving heroes like Magneto and Hulk can compete with the high mobility of Rogue and Angela.
Angela
Angela's performance in Season 7 has been exceptionally strong, particularly in her aerial dominance. While her damage output is in a good place, her defensive uptime was enabling her to stay in the fray for too long.
- Heven’s Retribution (Ultimate): Reduced spear health from 650 to 550. This allows enemy teams to destroy the spear more reliably if they focus fire.
- Seraphic Soar: Reduced the bonus damage gained at full charge from 20 to 18.
- Axes of Ichors: The bonus health granted to allies after landing Divine Judgement has been adjusted. It now provides 20 bonus health (down from 25) to ensure that snowballing in team fights is less oppressive.
Rogue
As the 45th hero, Rogue has seen various iterations since her debut. In the current meta, her ability to absorb high-impact Ultimates has made her a must-pick against certain compositions. We are shifting her power away from her passive absorption toward her active melee combat.
- Base Health: Increased from 550 to 575 to compensate for recent mobility nerfs.
- Energy Absorption: When Rogue steals an Ultimate, she now generates 15% less energy toward that stolen ability through damage dealt. This forces her to rely more on her base kit while holding a stolen power.
- Team-Up: Explosive Entanglement: The synergy with Magneto and Gambit has been adjusted. The explosion radius of the infused projectiles is reduced by 10%, though the initial impact damage remains unchanged.
Hulk
The big green disruptor needed a bit more "smash" in his kit to handle the current burst-heavy meta.
- Indestructible Guard: The absorbed damage to Ultimate ability charge conversion rate has been increased from 130% to 140%.
- Gamma Burst: Damage per hit increased from 65 to 70. The cooldown between uses is maintained at 2s, but the startup animation is now 10% faster.
Magneto
Magneto is being adjusted to better serve as a lane controller. We want his shield management to feel more rewarding.
- Iron Bulwark: Cooldown reduced from 10s to 9s.
- Metal Bulwark: The total damage threshold for the shield has been increased by 100 points, allowing Magneto to hold positions against sustained fire for slightly longer.
Duelist Balance Changes
Duelists are currently defined by high burst potential. This patch tempers the most dominant offenders while giving underperforming heroes the tools they need to secure eliminations.
Black Panther
T’challa’s agility is his greatest asset, but his kill-confirm potential was slightly too high when combined with certain Strategist buffs.
- Spirit Rend: Reduced the damage of the subsequent pounce by 5%.
- Subtle Step: While the second jump remains cooldown-free, the horizontal distance covered by the jump has been reduced by 15% to prevent him from crossing entire maps too quickly.
Blade
The Daywalker is receiving further refinements to his Bloodline Awakening mechanic to ensure he remains viable in close-quarters combat.
- Ancestral Sword: Single-hit damage increased from 26 to 28.
- Bloodline Awakening: The lifesteal ratio has been increased from 70% to 75%. However, the bonus health gained from excess lifesteal is capped at 60 (down from 75).
Scarlet Witch
Wanda’s Chaos Control has been a topic of debate. We are adjusting her damage falloff to encourage mid-range engagements over long-range poking.
- Chaos Control (Left-Click): Damage falloff now starts at 8m (was 10m). The damage at maximum range (20m) is now 70% of base damage, down from 90%.
- Chthonian Burst (Right-Click): Charge speed increased. It now takes 15% less time to reach full charge when landing consecutive Chaos Control hits.
Iron Man
Tony Stark's Armor Overdrive has been tweaked to reward precision over spray-and-pray tactics.
- Armor Overdrive: The duration extension per KO is now 1.5s (down from 2s).
- Unpulse Beam: Increased projectile speed by 10% to make long-range sniping more viable against mobile targets like Spider-Man or Angela.
The Punisher
Frank Castle remains a formidable force, but his Adjudication was providing too much value for its relatively low risk.
- Adjudication: Damage per hit reduced from 20 to 19.
- Celerity (Passive): The movement speed bonus when near low-health enemies is reduced from 15% to 10%.
Strategist Balance Changes
The Strategist role is in a healthy spot, but specific synergies have made certain heroes indispensable. We are looking to diversify the support meta.
Ultron
Ultron’s drone-based healing is being adjusted to provide more utility at the cost of raw healing output.
- Imperative: Patch: Drones now provide a 5% damage reduction to the tethered ally, but the healing per second is reduced by 10%.
- Imperative: Firewall: The bonus health granted to allies is increased from 50 to 65.
- Rage of Ultron (Ultimate): Energy cost increased from 4000 to 4200. The duration of the drone swarm is reduced by 1s.
Luna Snow
Luna remains the premier burst healer, but her self-sustain was making her too difficult to dive.
- Idol Aura: The conversion rate of healing to allies into self-healing for Luna is reduced from 10% to 8%.
- Absolute Zero: The freeze duration on enemies hit by the center of the blast is reduced from 1.5s to 1.3s.
Loki
The God of Mischief is getting some of his deceptive power back after recent nerfs.
- Mystical Missile: Damage dealt by Loki and his illusions increased from 25 to 27.
- Regeneration Domain: The healing radius is increased by 1m, and illusions now provide 15% of the base healing instead of 10%.
Team-Up Ability Updates
Team-Ups are the heart of Marvel Rivals, and we are constantly monitoring their impact on the game's balance.
- Chilling Assault (Luna Snow, Iron Fist, Emma Frost): When Emma Frost is present, the frost damage applied by Iron Fist’s strikes now stacks 20% faster, but the total freeze duration is capped at 2s.
- Sword of Duality (Hawkeye, Cloak & Dagger, Psylocke): Psylocke’s inclusion now grants Hawkeye a temporary 10% movement speed boost whenever Psylocke uses her Ultimate near him.
- Gamma Charge (Hulk, Iron Man): Iron Man’s Repulsor Blasts now deal an additional 5 area-of-effect gamma damage when he is within 10m of an active Hulk.
Map and Mode Adjustments
Hellfire Gala: Arakko (Convoy)
- Section 1: The mission vehicle's movement speed for the attacking side has been further normalized. It will no longer gain massive speed boosts when all six attackers are present; the speed cap is now reached at three attackers.
- Section 2: Added additional cover near the final checkpoint to prevent "spawn camping" by long-range Duelists like Hawkeye and Elsa Bloodstone.
Klyntar: Throne of Knull
- Lighting and Visibility: Adjusted the ambient lighting in the lower catacombs to improve character outline clarity.
- Health Packs: Moved the large health pack in the central chamber 5m closer to the defender's side to balance the win rates which were slightly favoring attackers.
Arcade Mode Hub
- Conquest (Annihilation): The score limit has been increased from 50 to 65 to accommodate for the longer TTK (Time to Kill) in the current meta.
- Clone Rumble: Added White Fox and Rogue to the random selection pool.
System Improvements
- Mood System Expansion: 15 new mood icons have been added, including Chibi White Fox and Golden Ultron variants.
- Performance Test 2.0 (PC): The stress test now includes a "Simulation Mode" that mimics a 6v6 team fight with maximum VFX to more accurately identify frame-rate drops.
- Spectator Mode: Added a "Cinematic Follow" toggle that uses AI to predict high-impact moments and automatically switches the camera to the hero likely to secure a KO.
- Ranked Integrity: Implemented a stricter detection system for "soft throwing." Players who consistently deal zero damage or provide zero healing over extended periods will receive a warning mid-match.
Bug Fixes and Optimizations
Heroes
- White Fox: Fixed a bug where her Spiritual Resonance would persist even after she swapped heroes in the spawn room.
- Doctor Strange: Resolved an issue where portals would occasionally clip players into the terrain on the Tokyo 2099 map.
- Black Panther: Fixed a rare animation glitch where Spirit Rend would play twice but only deal damage once under high latency conditions.
- Emma Frost: Corrected a visual bug where her Diamond Form would appear opaque instead of translucent on certain console settings.
- Venom: Fixed an issue where the Symbiotic Snare would not pull enemies if they were mid-dash.
- Spider-Man: Resolved a bug where web-swinging could be interrupted by friendly collisions in tight corridors.
- Groot: Fixed a terrain issue where Wild Wall could be placed inside mission vehicles, causing them to stop moving.
General
- UI: Fixed a bug where the "Career" page would show incorrect win rates for heroes played in Arcade modes.
- Audio: Corrected an issue where Ultimate voice lines were muffled if the hero was positioned behind a destructible wall.
- Connectivity: Optimized the "Auto-select Server Node" feature in tournament rooms to reduce average ping by approximately 15ms for inter-continental matches.
- Controller: Fixed the PS5 selection wheel remapping bug that prevented players from assigning specific emotes to the D-pad.
Meta Analysis: The April 2026 Outlook
With these changes, the Season 7 meta is expected to shift toward a "Mid-Range Poke" strategy. The slight nerfs to the survivability of White Fox and the mobility of Black Panther open up windows for more traditional hitscan heroes to shine. Vanguards like Magneto and Hulk are now better equipped to handle the frontline, while the Strategist role remains diverse but requires more careful cooldown management.
Players are encouraged to experiment with the revamped Team-Up synergies, particularly the buffed Gamma Charge, which could see Iron Man returning to a dominant position in coordinated play. As always, we will continue to monitor the performance of all heroes and provide further adjustments as we approach the Season 7.5 mid-season event.
Stay tuned for the upcoming "Celestial Challenge" event, which will introduce exclusive rewards for top-tier competitive play and new lore entries for the expanding Marvel Rivals universe.
