Academic life in Shujin Academy is a core pillar of the experience in Persona 5 and Persona 5 Royal. While stealing hearts in the Metaverse occupies the nights, the days are spent as a regular high school student. Excelling in class isn't just for flavor; it is the primary method for increasing the Knowledge social stat, which unlocks specific Confidant ranks and ensures top-tier rewards during midterms and finals.

Performing well on exams provides a significant boost to the Charm stat and improves relationships with school-based Confidants. However, the questions asked by teachers like Mr. Ushimaru and Ms. Kawakami are often obscure, covering everything from Japanese history and advanced mathematics to color theory and urban legends.

This collection provides every correct answer for both Persona 5 Royal and the original Persona 5. Note that the Royal edition introduces many new questions and changes dates for existing ones, so verify which version is being played before selecting an answer.

Understanding the Knowledge Stat and Exam Ranks

Before diving into the answers, understanding how the game calculates exam results is essential. Your ranking is not determined solely by answering questions correctly during the exam days. It is a combination of your current Knowledge rank and your accuracy during the test.

  • Rank 1: Oblivious
  • Rank 2: Learned
  • Rank 3: Scholarly
  • Rank 4: Encyclopedic
  • Rank 5: Erudite

To place in the top ten or rank first in the school, a specific Knowledge level is required for each exam period. For the first midterms in May, Rank 2 is usually sufficient for a decent score, but by the December finals, Rank 5 is almost mandatory for the top spot. Correctly answering questions in daily class sessions provides +1 Knowledge point (or +2 if it's raining).

Maximizing Rewards from Academic Excellence

Achieving a high rank in exams is one of the most efficient ways to boost your character's standing without spending time slots. After the exam results are posted on the school bulletin board, you gain a massive increase in the Charm stat—up to +3 if you rank first.

Furthermore, speak to Sojiro Sakura at Cafe Leblanc after ranking in the top ten or first. He will reward you with an accessory or a valuable curative item, such as the LeBlanc Charm or a Master Curry. If you have established a bond with the Hierophant Confidant, these rewards often scale in usefulness.

Additionally, some Confidants, like Makoto Niijima or Hifumi Togo, require high Knowledge ranks to progress. By using these answers to ace every test, you ensure that you never hit a progress gate during the crucial mid-game months.

Strategy for Social Stat Management

While knowing the answers is half the battle, reaching the required Knowledge rank for the finals is the other half. Here are a few ways to supplement your classroom gains:

  1. The Diner: Studying at the Shibuya Diner is the best way to gain Knowledge. Ordering the Fruity Tea during a rainy day provides a massive boost (+3 Knowledge and +1 Guts).
  2. Library Sessions: Studying at the school library is free and provides a Knowledge boost, though it is less effective than the Diner.
  3. Speed Reading: Complete the "Speed Reader" book as early as possible (available in the Shinjuku bookshop in Royal). This allows you to finish books in half the time, making your train rides and classroom free-time sessions twice as productive.
  4. Fortune Teller: Once you unlock Chihaya Mifune (The Fortune Confidant), use her "Luck Reading" to increase the rate at which your Knowledge grows for that day.

By combining these correct classroom answers with a disciplined study routine, you will easily conquer the academic challenges of Shujin Academy, leaving more time for the Phantom Thieves to change the world.
